Asian American Business Entrepreneurship:
Nationwide, minority groups and women are increasing their business ownership at a much higher rate than the national average, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
While the number of all U.S. businesses increased by 10 percent between 1997 and 2002, the rate of growth for minority and women-owned businesses was far higher:

- Asian Pacific Islander and Hawaiian-Owned Businesses: Up 67 percent
- Black-Owned Businesses: Up 30 percent
- Asian-Owned Businesses: Up 24 percent
- Hispanic-Owned Businesses: Up 22 percent
- Women-Owned: Incraese of Up 20 percent
- American Indian- and Alaska Native-Owned Businesses: No prior data recorded
